The Certificate of Early Childhood Development is designed for those who want to gain valuable insights on the stages young children go through when growing up. This course will help you understand what is happening at a physical and intellectual level as well as gain knowledge around the social and emotional stages of development in young children.
The course gives everyday examples to help you gain a sound understanding of the subjects covered and is presented in an easily manageable and fun way.
This is a comprehensive course that covers the well known early childhood development theorists such as Piaget, Freud and Erikson. This course also includes topics such as language development, toilet training and the importance of play in childhood development.
This is a great course for those with young children, or those planning on having young children in their lives. By knowing what is happening to the young children in your lives you will be better able to understand and support them at each stage of their development. The lessons in this course will provide you with reassurance to many questions along with real life examples of how children develop.
Exercises requiring access to young children are optional. We recommend that you have English reading and writing to 5th form certificate or year 10 equivalent levels before you undertake this course.
